Sometimes, the biggest inspiration comes from the youngest leaders among us
We are constantly moved by the kindness in our community, but every so often, someone goes above and beyond in a way that truly stops us in our tracks. Today, we want to share a special story of initiative, empathy and community spirit led by extraordinary Fairfield Woods 6th grader Vara Kapoor.
Recognizing a critical yet often overlooked need, this amazing young advocate took it upon herself to organize a feminine hygiene items drive during October. Period poverty affects about 16.9 million women in the United States. Vara saw that every donation can help someone feel more supported, confident and cared for. Thanks to Vara's hard work, women in our community will now have access to the dignity and comfort they deserve.
Beyond the physical boxes and bags of donations, what this drive really delivered was hope. It showed us what happens when empathy turns into action, and it serves as a powerful reminder that you are never too young to change the world. Thank you, Vara, and to all of the donors from near and far who made your drive a success for our neighbors in need!
