Fairfield’s Community Emergency Response Team’s (CERT) mission is to assist local emergency management agencies in disaster, crisis and emergency response and to promote safety education, emergency and disaster preparedness in the community. The team is a group of volunteers who have completed the CERT Basic Training Course of over 20 hours. Recently, we have come to rely tremendously on CERT. CERT has really stepped up and is happy to do anything that needs to be done. Besides running our pantry outside so clients can safely pick up curbside, they also sort and they check in all the food that’s donated through the weekly drives. And they are not at all afraid of the ever-changing weather! Thank you, CERT, we are deeply grateful for your helping hands, especially during these uncertain times
