Recently, Fairfield mom Laura Horne read “The Littlest Volunteers” to her daughter’s first grade class at Burr Elementary School. After teacher Ms. Gorzkowski and Laura talked about service with the class, the children decorated brown paper bags with uplifting messages. A few weeks later, Laura’s daughters packed the bags, filling each one with a seltzer, an orange, cookies and a turkey and cheese sandwich. Many thanks to the class and to Laura’s family! We love seeing children feel good about contributing in a meaningful and fun way. If you’re interested in providing bagged lunches for our clients to grab and go on the way to work, please send Volunteer Program Manager Donna Schmidt an email at [email protected].
