Fairfield teens Grace Kenney and Vicky Sgaglione created “Birdhouses for the Homeless” to spread awareness and help solve one of the problems Fairfield County faces, homelessness. In Connecticut alone, 3,976 people are homeless on a given night, which equates to 11 people for every 10,000 people are homeless. In Fairfield County, in Bridgeport, Norwalk and Stamford, there are 741 people homeless on a given night. When Grace and Vicky heard about this, they became determined to do something to help solve this problem. They sell decorated birdhouses, with the proceeds donated to Operation Hope. Recently, the teens donated $135 to Operation Hope. Any amount helps us end hunger and end homelessness, and we are deeply grateful for the time, talent and treasure Grace and Vicky share to help our neighbors in need.
