As a community organization founded over 30 years ago on tolerance, acceptance and love, we cannot sit by silently as we watch recent events unfold. We work every day to make the world a more just and equitable place for all people, and we will continue to do so, being here for our neighbors in need when they are at their most vulnerable.

Almost three months ago, when the COVID-19 pandemic struck the world, systematic and institutional racism became even more evident. The nature of this health and economic crisis has brought to light these injustices in countless ways.

Our communities are hurting and divided, and while we cannot change our shared history, we can help dismantle a system rife with injustice and inequity for our communities of color going forward. We hope you will take a stand and help us make change. Change happens when we do the hard work – voting, writing letters to elected officials, having productive conversations with strangers, helping someone you don’t know for their benefit, not yours.

We will continue to:

-Work together to heal our broken community
-Partner with citizens, community organizations, local clergy, law enforcement and elected officials to address issues of housing inequity and economic instability
-Advocate to bring justice and equity to our society

This is progress. This is one love. This is one heart.
