It’s never too late – or too soon – to celebrate the magic of giving during the December holidays! Although our annual gifting program, “Hope for the Holidays, Pandemic Style!” wrapped up in December, we wanted to thank you for opening your hearts to brighten the holiday season for our neighbors in need.

Our social workers delivered all of the donated gift cards to our clients. Your generosity has made a difference for 29 families and 64 adult individuals, for a total of 147 individuals right here in our community. Each individual received $150 in requested gift cards plus an extra $25 grocery gift card. THANK YOU to over 90 sponsors! And most of all, THANK YOU to our very own angel, Evie Angel, who quickly and effortlessly pivoted, again, to make last season’s “Hope for the Holidays” yet another success, ensuring the safety of our clients, staff and very limited number of volunteers this year while giving back hope and joy in another challenging year.

In years past, you get to see a little of the “Hope for the Holidays” magic at work when you drop off gifts: the dozens of volunteers busily organizing and wrapping the room full of gifts, holiday music playing in the background and a sense of community that is truly palpable. Since 2021 was a year like no other, instead of gathering in the social hall at St. Anthony’s Church as is tradition, “Hope for the Holidays” took place in the room above Evie’s garage. With the help of Evie’s family and friends, they counted, sorted and wrapped the INSANE amount of gift cards that you so generously donated!

We wish you all the best as 2022 continues and here’s to looking ahead to brighter days!
