An engaged group of Hopkins School families recently held a drive to collect personal items for our neighbors in need. The group had a very successful drive and the support from the school community was incredible. We are especially grateful for Hopkins parent Marissa Latshaw for spearheading the effort. The items pictured here are just the items collected for Operation Hope. We are always grateful for donations of personal care items. Since they are not food, SNAP benefits cannot be used to buy household items such as soap, laundry detergent, diapers, sanitary napkins, toothpaste, soap, toilet paper, etc. Since these items are essential, this restriction can be a hardship for SNAP recipients.

Hopkins is a private school located in New Haven, CT. Hopkins offers both middle school and high school programs. Service to others – in school, community, and country – as envisioned by the school’s founder, Edward Hopkins, remains an important element in the life of today’s Hopkins students. Operation Hope is grateful to be a beneficiary of Hopkins’ outreach efforts and applaud the school’s commitment to community.
