Fairfield DPW Food Drive for Operation Hope, May 18-24

Starting today, our Town’s DPW is joining hundreds of Public Works teams from across New England to collect food and household goods to support local community food bank needs.

Fill-A-Public Works Trucks roll out today for #NationalPublicWorksWeek to support Operation Hope’s Food Pantry 🙏🏽

Help us help our neighbors and friends. Look for the Town’s DPW “trucks” – collection boxes that will be located in the Town Clerk’s office at Old Town Hall, the vestibules of Sullivan Independence Hall, the information desk at Fairfield Police, Fairfield Recreation, the Bigelow Senior Center, and both Fairfield Public Library locations.

It may seem like we recently received a lot of pantry donations through the annual Stamp Out Hunger drive but we really could use all the help we can get. Our pantry shelves empty very quickly during the summer months and summer is just around the corner! Grateful for any help you can provide!

We and our Fairfield DPW Team thank you in advance for your support of this critical community need. 🦺🤝🦺

The Hot Chocolate Kid Helps Raise Money for Operation Hope, One Cup at a Time

How fun is this? A hot chocolate fundraiser for Operation Hope! 🤎 Peter, aka @thehotchocolatekid, is raising money for Operation Hope, one sip at a time! Each week, he’ll try out a new local café in search of Fairfield County’s best hot chocolate. For every hot chocolate he tries, he’ll be donating the cost of a cup to Operation Hope—and encouraging his followers to do the same! Donate here: https://bit.ly/thehotchocolatekid.

Inquiring minds want to know, Peter, with summer around the corner, does frozen hot chocolate count? 🤔

Thank you for supporting Peter’s efforts with a donation of any amount to help our neighbors in need. Be sure to follow Peter on social @thehotchocolatekid!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Mother’s Day offers a very special opportunity to honor those who open so many doors in our lives. Mothers, mothers-in-law, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, daughters, fathers, sons, uncles, friends, neighbors and mentors all touch our lives in significant and lasting ways. When you shower your mom or the special person who plays that role in your life today, please think of the moms struggling in our community. We thank you for helping us provide the most basic of needs to the most vulnerable members of our community. In difficult and uncertain times, those in need, more than ever, depend on caring and compassionate people like you. Happy Mother’s Day! 💐

Diaper Drive Through May 5 at Fairfield Y

Swing by the Fairfield Y through Monday, May 5, 12pm for a diaper drive to help our littlest neighbors in need. Diapers in particular are an expensive but essential need for babies, and yet they are not covered by Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. At Operation Hope, we understand the cost of diapers can be prohibitive for many of our clients. We are always grateful for donations of diapers so we can offer them in the Pantry; it’s a small step in an effort to support families in need. All sizes and open packs are welcome. Thank you!
