We’ve Been Struck by Cupid’s Arrow💘

Carole Canzoneri and her group of sweet volunteers are at it again! This time, we’ve been struck by Cupid’s arrow for Valentine’s Day 💘 Thanks to Carole and team for once again spearheading the Have A Heart Valentine’s Day Project ❤️ This lovely group is donating over 100 gift bags to benefit various local non profits, including Operation Hope. Each bag features some festive Valentine’s Day treats, stickers and small toys. Some of our Food Pantry clients with young children will receive these treat bags. Thank you to Carole + friends who generously donated all of the items to fill the bags. We are grateful for your big hearts 🥰

RLMS February Mid-Winter Drive Collects Over 1,110 Items

Wow! The students at Roger Ludlowe Middle School collected over 1,100 items in a mid-winter drive this month to help stock Operation Hope’s pantry 🥫🥫🥫We are deeply grateful to the RLMS community for its support of our neighbors in need by helping feed and care for those most vulnerable during this chilly season 🙏

Dwight Elementary Collects 400 Cans in “Souper Bowl”

Thanks so much to Dwight Elementary School here in Fairfield! As part of the school’s Super Bowl 🏈 festivities, the students and staff held a “Souper Bowl,” collecting 400 cans of food for our pantry 🥫🥫🥫 Thanks so much to the Dwight community for helping feed our neighbors in need! We are always so grateful for our young volunteers! 🫶

– Business office & Pantry (636 Old Post Road) closed Monday, February 17, 2025 (donations are not accepted during business closures)
– Community Kitchen (50 Nichols Street) closed Monday, February 17, 2025
– Business office and Community Kitchen re-open February 18, donations resume February 18, Pantry reopens February 19

Flower Donation Brightens Community Kitchen Tables

Flowers make people feel happier, calmer and more relaxed 💐which are things we strive for our Community Kitchen guests to feel when they join us for a meal. Thanks to local Fairfield resident, Regina Case, and her family, these beautiful floral arrangements also brighten our space, welcoming our guests with color and cheer. Thank you, Regina and family! 💖 Such a lovely treat, especially as we’re in the depths of winter! ❄️❄️❄️

The team of incredible volunteers from Assumption Parish held its annual Souper Bowl of Caring Food Drive yesterday, collecting dozens of donations for local pantries, including Operation Hope ❤️

NEW TIME for Feb 8 Souper Bowl of Caring Drive at Assumption Church

Due to the impending snow storm, this food drive will be held just Saturday, February 8, 1-5pm! The Sunday drop off has been canceled.

Join Assumption Parish to help tackle hunger in their annual Souper Bowl Food Drive! Easy drive by and donate! Drop off is Saturday, February 8, 1-5pm, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Fill the van with cans and kick hunger goodbye! All donations will benefit local food pantries, including Operation Hope’s Pantry in Fairfield.

Most needed items include: cash donations to buy perishables, sugar, flour, oil, pasta sauce, microwave popcorn, green tea, herbal tea, jelly, honey, canned fish, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and paper towels. Regular sized, not bulk, items, appreciated. 

If you’d prefer to support from the comfort of your home, please make a monetary donation here or purchase items from our Amazon pantry wish list here (they will be sent directly to us). Thank you – and especially to Assumption Parish for once again holding this very important food drive to help our neighbors in need.

Office, Pantry & Kitchen Closed Today Due to Inclement Weather

Our business office and Food Pantry at 636 Old Post Road and Community Kitchen at 50 Nichols Street will be closed due to inclement weather on Thursday, February 6. Donations will not be accepted until we reopen. Thank you for your support of Operation Hope! Stay safe and warm!

February’s Most Needed Items for Our Pantry – Shop in Store or Amazon

We are looking for some very basic items to help stock our Pantry. Help us feed and care for over 800 local families and individuals! Regular sized items (not bulk) appreciated. Drop off at our pantry M-F, 9am-4:30pm at 636 Old Post Road; there’s a drop off area to the left of the building. Please ring the bell and someone will greet you. Please do not leave donations unattended and when the office is closed. Monetary donations are always welcome so we can purchase exactly what we need for our clients, donate here. Or, if easier, simply purchase from our Amazon wish list here and your donation will be shipped directly to the pantry. Thank you!
