Held in May, the National Association of Letter Carriers’ (NALC) annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive is the largest, nationally-held food drive. Locally, we were honored to once again be the recipient of the donations. With the support of the NALC, an American labor union representing non-rural letter carriers employed by the United States Postal Service, dozens of Fairfield and Southport letter carriers who volunteered to pick up donations at residents’ mailboxes, volunteers and countless donors, we collected and sorted 5,500 lbs of pounds of non-perishables to help stock our Food Pantry. Our volunteers worked on there different dates: receiving the food on Saturday May 13, moving the food into our pods on Tuesday May 16 and sorting the food on Saturday June 3. We are grateful for so many helping hands and donors to help and care for our neighbors in need ❤️🙏
