Operation Hope of Fairfield has announced the appointment of an interim Executive Director as long-time leader Carla Miklos prepares to retire. Miklos is departing after 19 years of service, having significantly expanded the organization into a cornerstone of support for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, hunger and housing insecurity in Fairfield County. Effective immediately, the Board of Directors has appointed Erika Eng to fill the gap until a new Executive Director is secured.
A seasoned senior executive with 10 years of working with non profits, Eng has experience overseeing operations, strategic planning, educational programming, staff leadership, budgets, grants and developing municipal and community partnerships, most recently as Executive Director of SHU Discovery Science Center & Planetarium. Eng will work closely with Miklos during this transition to execute current long-term planning of a capital campaign to secure a new home for the organization, while advancing the mission to end hunger and homelessness, one person at a time.
