Milk is a hot commodity! We are grateful to be able to offer fresh milk in our Food Pantry. This week’s milk delivery was generously coordinated through Operation Community Impact, which has two primary goals: to address community food insecurity issues and to reduce the amount of surplus milk that is being discarded due to the COVID-19 crisis. Guida’s Dairy donated the milk and the delivery was organized by the Fairfield County UConn 4-H Club. 4-H volunteers showed up to deliver almost 2000 half gallons of milk to food pantries in our area, including Operation Hope. Many thanks to Guida Dairy, to Gulf Shrimp, Co. and to the 4-H volunteers, especially to Nikki Kenney, First Church Congregational member and UConn 4-H volunteer for helping feed our neighbors in need.
