This week’s Traveling Pet Food Pantry was the second in a series of distributions set to take place at Operation Hope in Fairfield. The turnout was great, we had 22 families and 46 pets. Of those 22 families, 12 were repeat families from last month. We distributed 194.8 lbs of dry cat food, 785 cans of cat food, 365.5 lbs of dry dog food and 103 cans of dog food. The food is provided at no charge to community members in need of support so that pets in homes can stay with the families that they already love so much. All of the pet food provided has come to the Connecticut Humane Society by way of generous donations. We are grateful for the CHS’s support of our neighbors in need, especially our four-legged friends!
The final Pet Pantry is July 13, 12:30-2:30pm at Operation Hope. Enter the parking lot at 148 Beach Road. Appointments are required, please call 860-594-4500 x6308 to schedule your appointment.
