Help us stamp out hunger for families here in Fairfield! Keep an eye out for a postcard from your letter carrier announcing the annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 13, rain or shine. This largest one-day food drive in America is sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) and all non-perishable food items donated locally will benefit clients of Operation Hope of Fairfield.
If your letter carrier is participating, as participation is strictly voluntary, place non-perishable food donations in a bag next to your mailbox on Saturday, May 13, rain or shine. Your letter carrier will collect the food and deliver it to Operation Hope. Our Food Pantry is in need of regular sized containers (not large or bulk) of ramen soup cups, sugar, oil, pancake mix & syrup, crackers, canned chicken, canned stew & chili, canned Chef Boyardee and Spaghetti-Os, canned fruit, pasta sauce (plastic jars preferred), ground regular, decaf & instant coffee, pudding & Jello, deodorant and paper towels.
The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is the country’s largest one-day food drive and provides residents with an easy way to donate food to those in need. The Letter Carriers’ food drive is held annually on the second Saturday in May in 10,000 cities and towns in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guam.
